Wei-Sender (formerly Mrs. Charles
C. Wei) of Nashville TN, formerly
of New York City, born in China,
writer and lecturer on the
Precision Club system, formerly a
nurse, medical facility
administrator for 15 years before
retiring in 1972. Was appointed
adviser to the Shanghai Bridge
League while attending the first
international bridge tournament
ever held in China (March 1981).
Makes frequent trips there to
advise and assist in various
bridge activities and endeavors,
now official adviser to Chinese
Bridge League. Ambassador of
Bridge for WBF and ACBL. Served
as mistress of ceremonies at all
matches between Corporate America
and U.S. Congress.

Personality of the Year 1986,
member ACBL Hall of Fame, ACBL
Honorary Member 1997. Charter
member WBF Friends of Bridge
1987. In 1981 the International
Bridge Press Association awarded
the Goren Personality of the Year
award to Deng Xiaoping, premier
of the Peoples Republic of
China. Wei-Sender delivered the
award to Mr. Deng in Beijing, and
during that visit she played
bridge with Mr. Deng as his
partner.

team in 1971 Bermuda Bowl. Taiwan
surprised the world by finishing
2nd to the then all-powerful Blue
Team from Italy. Wei-Sender also
captained Taiwan in the 1972
World Team Olympiad.

Board member of Greater New York
BA, trustee and president of ACBL
Charity Foundation. Contributor
to various national and
international bridge
publications, with a regular
weekly column with Alan Truscott
in Chinas Peoples
Daily; co-author of her
autobiography Second Daughter and
co-author of Action for the
Defense and One Club Complete.
Also has hosted television series
in China entitled Yang Xiao-Yen
Presents. Yang Xiao-Yen is her
Chinese name.
